Since graduating from Cape Town University with a BSC in Applied Mathematics, George has worked as a Programmer, Business Analyst and BI Specialist throughout Southern Africa and Europe and has acquired a tremendous amount of experience with organisations that include The Berkeley Group, British Gas, Lombard Finance, Prudential and Hewlett Packard

George began his association with Crystal Reports in 1996 by designing and presenting the very first Crystal Reports training course to be run in England.
In 2006, George took up a senior consultancy position with the Business Intelligence team at DSCallards with the objective of helping with the development of the team involved with running multiple, complex projects simultaneously across the UK.
George’s achievements to date include:
- Crystal Reports: Accredited trainer and consultant since 1997. George has developed several hundred Crystal Reports from a wide variety of data sources over the past five years and has run Crystal Reports training courses at all levels. Used Crystal Reports from version 3 to 2008 consistently.
- Crystal Enterprise: Extensive working knowledge of Seagate Info (including Cube Design) and Crystal Enterprise.
- SQL: George worked exclusively with SQL Server and Oracle developing scripts and views on the database. Practical experience of building databases and database administration. Designed and presented training courses in Design of RDBMS and SQL.
- Data Cleansing: One key project involved the identification of data quality and cleansing of several million records.
- Data Migration: George assisted in the transfer and build of a SAP database.
- Microsoft Office and Visual Studio: George has developed several database systems in Microsoft Access and in Visual Basic.
George’s area of expertise covers integration of Crystal Reports software solutions with systems such as SAP, Oracle, SQL, MS Access and a number of proprietary databases. Significant projects to date include:

This was an 18 month project to implement Pension Credits. George was part of a large team with responsibilities for Management Reporting, customer letters, data cleansing and design and usage of Call Centre scripts.

Working with the team installing new banking software from an Oracle database, George’s area of responsible covered all reporting from the new system – customer letters, statutory and control reports.

| British Gas |
This was the largest installation of SAP/Siebel in Europe with over 18 million customers. George was responsible, working with the company lawyers, for compliance with The Data Protection Act. This involved data cleansing, implementation of controls and management reporting.

Part of the project involved installing new traffic information systems on the motorways. George wrote all of the management control and project control reports.
