PRESS RELEASE

HiT

HiT Software adds XML data management to its JDBC/DB2 and Ritmo/DB2 .NET provider products with support for IBM® DB2® 9 data server and its industry leading pureXML™ technology.

Las Vegas, Nevada, October 18, 2007 - HiT Software Inc., a leading provider of real-time data integration, data synchronization, and data access products today announced support for IBM PureXML™ in its state-of-the-art JDBC/DB2 and Ritmo/DB2 .NET Provider data connectivity products, allowing JDBC and .NET Framework-based applications and developers to access XML data residing on DB2 for AIX, z/OS, Linux and Windows systems. Latest releases of HiT JDBC/DB2 and Ritmo/DB2 .NET Provider also provide support for BINARY and VARBINARY datatypes on DB2 Version 9 for z/OS.

With DB2® 9, IBM® has revolutionized support for XML data, handling XML as a new data type that is stored in a natural hierarchy differently from relational data. The PureXML™ feature allows DB2 application developers and users to access XML data using both SQL and XQuery languages. HiT Software’s full support for PureXML™ lets users of its DB2 connectivity products immediately leverage DB2 version 9 features in both Java™ and Microsoft® .NET environments with dependable, high-performance, small-footprint data access.

"IBM and HiT clients are benefitting from our complementary, industry-leading XML-based solutions that increase the availability and reliability of information and drive important business results," said Bernie Spang, director, IBM data servers. "By delivering these capabilities we’re removing barriers to using information as a strategic business asset."

From its position as a certified IBM Business Partner and an Industry-Optimized member of the Partnerworld Industry Network, HiT Software is committed to supporting the PureXML™ technology across its products. "HiT Software is a long-time advocate of XML data integration," reported Giacomo Lorenzin, President and CEO of HiT Software, "and we are pleased to see that IBM is supporting its customers’ needs for traditional relational data storage together with efficient, high-speed XML data access."
